so Melissa why conversational Bible study content curriculum creation versus lecture style and why in a home yeah I'm really excited actually about this type of conversation because I think what's amazing is you know when we sit with the word and we talk together it's not just the three of us the spirits with us and we're learning as we talk together about what God's word says and so what I think all three of us would want to say is the best teacher is not any of us it's the Holy Spirit and what we model here can happen in your home that's good the most special thing here is the holy spirit not any of us that's good so Jackie you deal with Ephesians 6 which talks about a lot of things but one of them is about spiritual warfare what insights does Ephesians 6 or Ephesians as the whole book offer on spiritual warfare well I think it's interesting to me that even outside of Ephesians the Bible begins not the Bible but even the tension between Humanity begins with a spiritual battle you have Adam and Eve in the garden with the serpent who is Satan right but you also have the Bible concluding with the spiritual battle which is Jesus and the the the forces and armies of the evil one and so we're kind of living in the middle of that you know where we have to fight against the evil one uh through Holiness through putting on the armor of God the the breastplate of righteousness the belt of Truth the helmet of salvation and all the things but we battle against somebody who's already lost and so I think what that's what Ephesians does is it it gives us the tools the resources and the reminders so that we're not naive but it also gives us the kind of framework to know you fighting a war that's already been won and so be excited so Jasmine how does Ephesians help us both understand our faith and the practice of our faith I love Ephesians because it is so well organized chapters 1 through three are all about Orthodoxy what do we believe what do we believe about God what do we believe about ourselves what do we believe about our Salvation what what do we need to be reminded of he prays for us twice just in those three chapters for wisdom for knowledge for insight and then in 4 through 6 he gets into orthopraxy in light of what we believe what what are we now supposed to do and both of those halves kind of work together in the book of Ephesians it's not just a book of rules and regulations but it's also not just a book of theology that's divorced from practice those two sides really go hand in hand and something that's really unique about the book [Applause] [Music]
