chapters 1 through three of Ephesians are just full of this abundance language like there's more than enough it never runs out there's riches and there's you know opulence and there's cuz he could have said I mean he could have used a word other than lavish but I think lavish gives this image of there's more than enough yeah yeah you think of a lavish Feast yeah yeah laid out before and I think we kind of run from this word why because yeah it's his glorious Grace that he's lavished on us I think we either go one way or the other I think we think I'm too big of a sinner and there's not enough Grace so we don't really believe the word lavish or I think we think I'm pretty good I don't really need it lavished I mean you can give me a dollar yeah yeah that's I just need a dollar I don't need lavish and Paul gets that he he's experiencing lavish you know it's and he lives in that and it's I think it's different when you walk around thinking I've been richly blessed rather than I think our sometimes our hearts think oh I think Jasmine's been richly blessed yeah you know I mean and and versus no I I have gotten a lot of Grace given to me and the goodness of that yeah I was I was reading through this and thinking about how a lot of times with any book of the Bible especially Epistles we tend to read it with ourselves in mind which we should right but I think we can't ignore all the we language you know even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and love he predestined us like as Sons plural through Jesus Christ and I was thinking to myself if I thought of this text applying to other Christians more than I thought about it applying just to me would change the way I moved with other Christians especially ones that hurt me yeah especially ones I don't like I would be like well they were predestined for adoption of sons too right and so I the same Grace and love and care and compassion and thoughtfulness that like I know God has for me I have to share that and reflect that even when it comes to my brothers and sisters yeah do you think it's harder to do that with people sometimes in the church oh yeah why cuz they don't be acting like they been predestined for adoption they don't be moving holy and blameless um but that's the tension cuz neither [Music]
