One of the Most Helpful Things You Can Say to a Young Mother | Word First

um one of the best things that someone told me as a young mom was this phrase you cannot be a perfect mom but you can be a prayerful Mom and for me that has been personally very encouraging because everything in me wants to be a perfect mom I want to give my kids the best of everything that I can from academics to Athletics to just making sure that they reach their full potential and really as a mom that can set us on a hamster will of feeling overwhelmed all of the time and ultimately I think as moms we all know when we seek to be a perfect mom we fall flat on our face we yell at our kids we do things that we don't mean to do we're harsh with them and so what I found so helpful about that phrase was just her acknowledgement you're never going to be the perfect mom but you can be a prayerful mom and so it helped me set my heart on taking my children before the Lord each day praying for their salvation praying for the things they were dealing with and really seeking the Lord with how I mother what choices we make as a family and seeking him in all of those things rather than just seeking to be perfect mom um but seeking to be a prayerful mom each day and so that was helpful for me and I just um I think all of us can shoot to be prayerful mothers each day with our children
